Hugo (5★ Order · Ranger) is a high-tempo combatant in Chaos Zero Nightmare whose kit centers on Commence the Hunt stacks and Extra Attacks. His core loop revolves around building Hunt Commence — a temporary resource gained primarily through cards like Hunting Instincts and Dingo Howling, which grant stacks whenever an Upgrade or Skill card is used by any team member. Once he has Hunt Commence stacks, Hugo unleashes powerful follow-up Extra Attacks whenever any targeted Attack card hits an enemy, consuming one stack per attack and making every hit count multiple times.
His deck includes cards such as Quick Fix, which deals damage and draws additional attacks when in Commence the Hunt, and Fixer’s Approach, which boosts the damage of Extra Attacks tied to Commence the Hunt stacks. Hugo’s Ego Skill, Last Resort, deals heavy area damage while also increasing the damage of his Commence the Hunt Extra Attacks for the rest of the battle. This makes him exceptionally potent in teams built around frequent Skill and Upgrade usage, as consistent stacking of Commence the Hunt enables frequent, high-damage follow-up hits that scale throughout a fight.
